Educational Materials
ADULT EDUCATION: The groO Growing Vegetables Instruction Manual is a hands-on organic vegetable gardening program dedicated to promoting balanced, healthy lifestyles. The lessons in the program progress with continuity giving participants all the information needed for a safe and successful gardening experience at home, work, school, or elsewhere in the community. It is an easy to understand manual for public, private, or home school use, grades 4 through adult.
CHILDREN'S EDUCATION:
The groO After School Program is a hands on adventure in gardening for students 4th through 6th grades. This six week program offers an introduction to gardening as well hitting upon the importance of eating healthily.
The Growing Vegetables Cross Curricular Program for grades K-12 is most effectively used as a supplement to the groO Growing Vegetables Teacher Manual. The activities and projects were compiled over a 20-year period. In a creative and fun manner, they allow many additional cross-curricular educational content standards to be met. Many of the activities provide community service opportunities. The teacher may choose grade specific activities best suited to the group or individual in these subject areas: Language Arts, Mathematics, History/Social Studies, Science, Geography, Foreign Language, Art, Music, Computer Science, Penmanship, Physical Education/Health/Nutrition, and Drama.
